AppSheet is Google's no-code platform for building mobile and web apps on top of data you already have: Google Sheets, cloud files, Cloud SQL, another database of your choosing, or its own AppSheet database. Gemini for App Creation turns a plain-language description into suggested tables, columns and links between them, which open in the AppSheet editor as app configuration, not code. Security filters and role-based access decide who sees which rows, and users sign in with Google, Microsoft, Apple and other providers. Pricing is per user per month: Starter $5, Core $10 (included in most paid Google Workspace plans) and Enterprise Plus $20 (200,000 rows per AppSheet database; a Workspace administrator must sign up), plus Publisher Pro at $50 a month per app for public apps with unlimited users and no sign-in. Building and testing is free with up to 10 users. AppSheet is SOC 2 Type 2 audited and lists ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018; PHI requires a BAA, arranged through AppSheet sales. On May 15, 2026 the AppSheet team said its first priority is now stability and reliability, and that new feature development will be significantly reduced.

Is AppSheet being shut down?
No. On May 15, 2026 the AppSheet product team said stability and reliability are now its first priority, that engineering will focus on bug fixes and customer support, and that new feature development will be significantly reduced, with long-standing Preview features either brought to general availability or turned down. Existing apps keep running. If you need features AppSheet has not built yet, factor that in.
Which one is HIPAA-eligible?
Both sign a BAA. AppSheet is covered by the Google Cloud BAA, arranged through AppSheet sales, and its HIPAA guide asks you to mark PHI columns as sensitive and keep PHI out of app definitions and support tickets; it also holds an independent SOC 2 Type 2 audit. Tadabase AI offers HIPAA-eligible plans with a BAA, PHI access logs and field masking synced to row-level security. Its controls are built to SOC 2 guidelines and have not been independently audited.
Can I move my AppSheet app to Tadabase AI?
Yes, the data comes with you. If your app runs on Google Sheets, download each sheet as CSV; if it runs on a database, export each table. Import the files into Tadabase and describe the app you want on top of them. Relationships become relationships, your security filters are rebuilt as roles with row-level security, and the views are rebuilt as pages by Tadabase AI rather than copied. Check the permissions with a test user before you invite anyone.
